William Shakespeare, The Tempest, Page 25, Line 216-217
<

I saw a boy one day

Walking toward it like he couldn’t say

Sat beneath the evergreen tree

And said he was in love with me

He said he always knew me well

Everyday he could tell

You understand me he explained

Because I’ve never felt the sameI stood bewildered for a while

Watching away as he cried

Sat down beside him that day

And asked him why he ran away

He said he couldn’t explain why

After all he had to cry

Stupid me he proclaimed

I said you have to take the blame

Why he said with all eager eyes

Because of all your built up lies

Today beneath the evergreen tree

He said he always hated me.

I love the way you ended it so differently froom the end. It made a strong point and it really does describe how the world works. I think that the world does chanjge depending on what you do and what you say rather than who you are like how in the beginning he loved you but in the end you confronted him of his flaws like his built up lies and he got mad….and that day under an apple tree he hated you. At least I think that was one of the points of the poem ^^

I like all of your poems; I like the way you try to keep the lines short but meaningful, I like your tactful use of repetition and color, and I like the way you turn stereotypical poetic sentiments upside-down, as in this poem. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the comment Mr.A! I like to keep the poems short, as they allow the readers to understand it how they want to.

I love how some of it rymed! It gave it a really nice touch. Also the ending got me thinking. I think that when some one rejects you it is easier to hate that person. Its easier to push them away compleatly and say that you hate them. Its a bad thing to do but if it hurts less then I can understand why someone would say it. Blew me away love it!
